Chesa-pics nature photography by royce ball
Chesa-Pics, established in 2004, is the result of a hobby that began with a point and shoot camera Royce received as a Christmas gift. He had noticed that some of the images he took with that camera surpassed “normal” eye appeal, and some of his friends commented on the quality of the photographs as well. It was through this “discovery” of photography that Royce’s avocation began and he set out to capture beautiful images of the Chesapeake Bay area, including its’ wildlife.
Royce was raised in Howard County, Maryland, but spent 15 years living in Edgewater, in the Annapolis area, before relocating to the Eastern Shore. Having no formal training, Royce has had to learn the skill necessary to photograph the Chesapeake Bay area while in the field, and he says at the same time he has learned more about nature and himself as a result.
Chesa-Pics, along with other industry, is committed to the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay. We support effective restoration projects that provide lasting and manageable solutions so vital to the future of OUR National treasure, the Chesapeake Bay. Royce hopes that you enjoy these images and will join with him to help restore the Chesapeake through sound ecological practices and participation in environmental restoration initiatives.

welcome to the natural world as seen through my lens
Royce reminds all nature photographers that no picture is worth it if habitat is destroyed or wildlife is stressed.
Take only pictures; leave only footprints.
